Matthew V. Speicher, DO, MBA, founded Anchor Point Medicine after a Navy career spanning aviation, emergency medicine, medical leadership, and service as a White House physician.
Why primary care?
Anchor Point grew from a model Dr. Speicher knew long before the term concierge medicine: the relationship between Naval aviators and their Flight Surgeon—the trusted “Doc” who understands the person, the mission, the family, and the consequences of a medical decision.
That same relationship followed him into clinical leadership at Walter Reed and service at the White House. The setting changed, but the work repeatedly came back to continuity, discretion, careful judgment, and personal responsibility for the people under his care.
Emergency medicine adds a different kind of breadth to that primary-care relationship. It means comfort evaluating undifferentiated symptoms, managing acute illness and injury, performing procedures, using bedside ultrasound, and deciding when a problem truly requires escalation.
Anchor Point combines that skill set with the continuity of a deliberately small primary-care practice—one built around annual health planning, planned follow-up, and proactive attention throughout the year.

The Principle
Know your physician before the difficult decision.
The practice is intentionally small because familiarity cannot be mass-produced. The goal is for medical decisions to begin with context rather than a chart search.
